Welcome... This site is primarily geared for bassists looking for instruction; but if you're
inquiring to hire my services for a gig, studio session, or other collaboration, please refer to my "Bio" page about
my experience, and call or email me about what you need. Thanks for stopping by...
In studying my
program one on one, short evaluations are made and customized curriculums are put into effect, which dials in on the
players' knowledge/skills needs. So in every lesson my students take in key information and understanding through musical
situations/examples, which otherwise might possibly take him/her months/years to discover, figure out on their own, or
unfortunately be entirely missed.
The reason I make such a bold statement to this subject of "what's missing",
is because it's happened to me, my other colleagues, and see it many times over in other players missing critical solutions
to widely excel. Therefore, after my education years of playing and teaching, I simply want to pass down the tools of practical,
educated, and timeless concepts given to me by extraordinary gifted players and innovative teachers, plus from a few notable
jazz greats I've been very fortunate to have studied with.
I want to make a brief point in getting started: Try not to wait for, or force feed "motivation" as this enabling power to kick in. It may never come at all or
be that useful. Experts find relying on self-motivation to get you going, will usually fail you because it’s inconstant,
fueled by changing emotions. Just start without it, begin, and the real truth is, that as the natural progression happens,
armed with patience, you will see improved results, which in turn fosters motivation beyond mere emotion. Then you’re
driven!
Having your effective tools is the advantage. The lack
of understanding and using key mechanics, time-proven methods and solid fundamentals, is where a player will stay stuck in
a vacuum of futility unable to move forward with greater understanding as a musician, which has been a consecutive conclusive
reality among my students before they did the program, that now succeed in a competitive field.
The usage in practical
improv through theory, ear training, rhythm studies, transcription, and technique are all paramount to taking your playing
to a "nailing it" level, giving you the ability to truly perform, as well as communicate in every language of music.
How it's all taught .... coming off the heals of my mentors is what I've built and refined.
